We would like to take this opportunity, again, to show our appreciation to our generous donors. Thanks to your generosity, children benefited by this project will receive not just a toy, but happiness that they will remember forever.
We would also like to give you an update on the progress of this event. Due to availability of funds, we were not able to send the toys until yesterday. Boxes containing 300+ toys left Boston, MA on December 18th, 2013. The toys will not be there for Christmas but they will arrive just in time for 'The Three Wise Men Day". This holiday is celebrated in the Dominican Republic and other contries on January 6th and it's part of the Christmas holidays.
The Three Wise men, or magi, or kings, visited Jesus after his birth and bringing gold and other gifts to him. They are an important part of Christian traditions. They are belived to be the first religous figures to worship Jesus. The Dominican Republic, which has deep Christian roots, celebrates 'El Dia de Reyes', which translates to 'The Day of the Kings'. This will be a great opportunity to hold the event.
Again, we thank you all for your support and understanding.
