Dear Friend,
Mother's Day is a chance to celebrate moms all over the world. Thanks to your gift, a mom in India received a brand new sewing machine that is enabling her to support her family.
Your generosity means so much to moms like Padmavathi. She has four children, two sons and two daughters. Her husband was the sole provider of the family but his income wasn't enough to take care of everyone. They often struggled without their basic needs. Having only a 5th grade education, Padmavathi had very little options for work. It was also too hard to work and look after her four children.
Padmavathi was so excited when she was accepted into the tailoring school. She trained for 6 months and learned how to sew many types of clothing. Padmavathi also attended empowerment classes that gave her the confidence to stand firm during difficult times in her life. When she graduated she received a sewing machine that changed her life forever.
Today Padmavathi is now able to work from home and earn an income for her family. She sews clothes for others as well as her family. Sewing has given Padmavathi a wonderful opportunity to rise up and out of poverty.
Thanks to you, there are 7 tailoring schools with 84 women currently enrolled. You are having such an incredible impact on all of these women and families!
This Mother's Day, I hope you consider giving again to help more moms like Padmavathi care for their families. Your gift of $100 can provide one sewing machine to a mother in need.
Sincerely,
John Sparks
