Hola Amigos!
“I am Miguel, one of the 20 children who have benefited from the project “Give a new Smile to 20 children in Uraba”. I am 5 years old and I live with my mom, my sister and my grandmother. Thanks to your donations I recently had the last of my three surgeries.
Once a week I go to speech therapy* to improve my pronunciation so that people don’t make fun of me when I speak. I have had 10 therapy sessions and I am really happy that now I can finally pronounce my sister’s name. Now she understands me when I call her!
I love playing with my toy cars and when my sister is sad I play with her to make her happy.
I thank you for giving me my new smile!”
*These children who suffer from cleft lip and Split palate have serious speech impediments. Once the palate has been repaired they are able to learn more consonant sounds and say more words, but it is still hard for them, that’s why they need a speech therapist who encourages them to speak and pronounce new words.
Once again thank you for brightening the future of these children!
