Dear Well-wishers,
Regards from Gram Vikas Trust (GVT), Bharuch.
In this report GVT wants to share about the update of few girls who have decided to reenroll in the school almost after one year of drop out from their schooling. It is about a village named Sardarpura (Name Changed) from where 8 girls who got admission in 9th standard after completing 8 from their village. They were regular in the school in initial phase, but somehow they left going to school. And now they dropped out from the school.
It happened like this way, among those 8 girls one of them was reaming sick and could able to remain regular in the school. Because of the irregular girl the other girls also getting demotivated and started not going to school. It was also became the talk of the village that because of travelling to school on daily basis the girl got sick, and slowly all the 8 girls got dropped out.
While interacting with them we come to know that the girl who was remaining sick is suffering from “sickle cell” and that is why she was remaining sick. But some of the villagers was not happy about the girls’ higher education and they were spreading such rumors.
We have discussed with all the girls and tried to convince them to go back to the school regularly. All of them have agreed to attend the school on regular basis, also their parents were council on the same. We are also trying to motivate the villagers for girls higher education and asking about their support.
