Dear well-wishers,
Regards from Gram Vikas Trust, Bharuch!
In this report Gram Vikas Trust (GVT) want to share with you a ground reality. In many cases GVT has seen the parents and community are coming forward for their children’s education. Some of the community help in making their children’s learning more easily and also support their children against the rigid system of the society.
“Dream big, stay positive, work hard and enjoy the journey.”
- Urijah Faber
GVT has come across a community, which are against the girls’ education. Parents and community are not ready to support if any girl wants to study further. Not the parents and community only, but the whole environment has set in such a way that the girls of the community are not able to think to get further study.
It is the reality of the village, and the community. The community are supportive, they come forward to discuss about the children’s learning, their regular attendance in school, but if someone talk about their girls’ education nobody will going to hear a single word from anyone. It is not that they do not have any challenges or any other obstacles, but they are not ready to face the challenges or overcome it.
The village, we are talking about is very interior, and there is no any transportation facilities available. Almost 8km they have to walk from a very lonely road. In the past year some women have faced some eve-teasing experiences from some unknown person on that road, so the parents not feel safe for the travel of their daughters.
Yet, they have many options to solve the issue, but it has become so strong which is really very difficult to remove from them. But GVT has started working with the community and we believe that the success will come, the daughters of the village will have access to education and parents only will come up with a strong plan for their girls’ education.
Please share your ideas or feedback for the better result.
