Give A Girl A Bicycle - Help Her To Go School

In Jhagadia block few tribal and rural interiear village have upto 5^th std school within the village. More than 98 percent Girls after 5^th std drop out and only 2 % Girls enrolled in higher education in their relative home where facilities of higher standard  and facilities of hostel in nearby city.

During this year 20 Girls have passed 5^th std from these village school and out of that only 4 girls took admission in higher education who’s parents are economically sound and rest of 16 underprivileged Girls dropped out due to poor financial condition as well as lack of transport facilities from the village.

After dropped out these girls have made a mind that they will now not go for higher education. During individual interaction most of them said his parent not want to send them out side the village for education feeling insecurity as a girl child. There is also tradition that after 8^th std passed they learn domestic work in the house for the period of one to two year and after that they are married.

Gram Vikas Trust organized residential “Jivan Utkarsh Sibir” for there girls along with their parent for a period of three days. These Sibir include various topic including life skill, role play. All the resource person for the sibir is women who have made success in his life.

On last day we are able to motivate these 16 girls and their parent for higher education and give commitment for the enrollment in 6^th std in Jhagadia Girls school which is only 3 KM away from the Janiyadra village.  Gram Vikas Trust has invited Jhagadia primary & high school principal on same day and they are agreed to enroll all girls in 6^th std.  

Gram Vikas Trust helped them by donating bicycles, so that at least they can continue their higher education.  We cannot do everything, but can do something with the help of our partners.
