Dear well-wishers,
Regards from Gram Vikas Trust, Bharuch!
As the new academic year has just started, number of children have tighten up their shoes for being educated. Many of the children have enrolled in higher secondary school, and many of them have taken admission in different colleges. If we talk about the rural areas especially of Jhagadia (Bharuch, Gujarat) there are numbers of students who take admission/enroll after 8th standard may not continue their studies due to distance from their villages.
These year during the vacation period, GVT had surveyed 53 children from the rural areas of Jhagadia block, and have identified 34 children (Girls) who have wished to take admission but due to distance they may not attend school on regular basis or may drop out from the school. These 34 girls are from different villages and different standard from 9th to 12th. GVT have also intervene some of the girls who have not studied further, they shared that due to distance, lack of public transport and other financial reasons they just dropped out from schools.
It is common belief that girl children will not able to work after marriage, and there is no use of education for girls, so parents are also not motivate their girl children for higher education. GVT is also have observed that many parents do not wait for their girl children right age and get married in very younger age.
Every year GVT supports hundreds of girls through by simple bicycle for their higher education. This year we have identified 34 girl children who are in need of support from your side. Let us make their future bright by supporting them.
