Dear donors,
Apologies for late update of the project Give a girl a bicycle-help her to go to School.
"Learning is the eye of the mind."
- French Proverb
Gram Vikas Trust (GVT) were in the process of identifying the girls who are facing difficulties to go to school because of the distance. Mostly in the project area there are many girls who drop their studies due to distance of the higher secondary school from their villages. This is the reason which come into mind at the first. But while interacting with different people it has observed that the girls do not study further because of their primary schooling is not become effective, and they do not able to cope with the higher studies and probably they left studying.
The major reason behind it the girls do not get support or motivation from parents, teachers, peers and community. The parents have not ready to think and/or believe that education is the only way to change the family condition. They just think of their daily wages and where they can spend the money. Education is their last priority or not in the list of priorities.
GVT believes that giving bicycle will help the girls to reach to the education, but it will not be possible without the support of parents and community. Such support from GVT and the motivation of the parents and community will help the girls to get educated.
Looking all the situation GVT has identified few of the girls from different villages who are really wish for further studies, also their parents understand the importance of education. May be these girls may set and extraordinary example for the parents and community and they may change their thinking towards education.
Your suggestions and feedback will help GVT for better result.
