Our new stock of 600 weatherHYDEs is expected to be delivered by end of March. billionBricks team visited our partners and manufacturers in China to check on production samples and progress. We are expected to start delivery and deployment from the second quarter of 2019. If you have made a recent contribution you will soon be hearing from us on where and who have you impacted.
Bringing smiles to some more in Lombok!
In February, we got a request from The Red Pencil, an organization with a humanitarian mission, for weatherHYDEs in Lombok, Indonesia. The island of Lombok was hit by 5 powerful earthquakes and aftershocks from July 29, 2018 - August 19, 2018 and many continue to be in need of shelter. If you would recall, we had responded in October 2018 with weatherHYDEs in Lombok.
A collaborative effort towards ending homelessness!
Our life-saving solutions are open-sourced and made accessible to vulnerable communities globally. As a step in this direction, Include-U, a non-profit social enterprise is partnering with billionBricks to manufacture weatherHYDEs in the United States. They will employ people with disabilities making the impact of weatherHYDEs deeper. Expect to see the first batch of ‘made in USA’ weatherHYDEs later in 2019.
