Talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not. In Mathare, Nairobi, many vulnerable boys and girls risk missing out on education because their families cannot afford school fees and other essential learning expenses. Through this scholarship project, Mathare Community Health and Education Fund (MCFP) seeks to raise funds to help children from disadvantaged families access and continue their education. Your donation can keep a child in school, restore hope to a family and open the door to a bright
Imagine a bright boy dreaming of becoming a doctor or a girl aspiring to be a teacher. Yet poverty threatens their dreams. UNICEF reports that 42.4% of Kenyan children lived in poverty in 2022, while approximately 2.5 million children are out of school. In Mathare, school-related costs can prevent vulnerable boys and girls from accessing education. Every child deserves a chance to learn, thrive and build a brighter future, regardless of their family's income.
MCFP's scholarship programme will address financial barriers that prevent vulnerable boys and girls from Mathare from accessing and completing their education. By supporting school fees and essential learning needs, the programme will help children stay in school, reduce the risk of dropping out, promote equal educational opportunities and give disadvantaged learners a chance to achieve their dreams, break the cycle of poverty and build brighter futures for themselves and their families.
The programme will help break the cycle of poverty by enabling vulnerable boys and girls in Mathare to complete their education, pursue further studies and access better employment opportunities. In the long term, educated children can become self-reliant adults, support their families and contribute to community development. By investing in education today, MCFP will help build a more equitable, empowered and prosperous future for generations to come.
