There is something special about watching a child open a new book for the very first time.

The excitement in their eyes, the careful way they turn each page, and the quiet confidence that begins to grow reminds us that education is much more than learning words on paper. For many children in Pakistan's marginalized Christian communities, a textbook represents opportunity, dignity, and hope.

This quarter, we met many children like Samuel.

Samuel, a nine-year-old student, used to arrive at school carrying an almost empty school bag. He loved coming to school, yet every lesson reminded him of what he did not have. While his classmates followed the teacher from their textbooks, Samuel could only watch. Reading exercises became moments of embarrassment. Homework was nearly impossible. He wanted to participate, but without books, he remained silent.

Everything changed when generous supporters of Chopan Trust provided him with his own set of textbooks.

The following morning, Samuel reached school before anyone else. He carefully placed his new books on his desk and proudly followed every lesson. For the first time, he volunteered to read aloud. His teacher later shared with us, "We did not simply give Samuel books. We gave him the confidence to believe that he belongs in the classroom."

Samuel's story is being repeated in many classrooms across our partner schools.

Turning Generosity into Opportunity

Through the Give a Child a Future project, Chopan Trust continues to provide essential textbooks to children studying in low-cost community schools. Many of these families struggle to provide daily meals, making educational materials an impossible expense.

Thanks to the faithful partnership of GlobalGiving donors, we have been able to place learning resources directly into the hands of children who otherwise would have gone another school year without them.

During this reporting period, our team worked closely with school principals and teachers to identify children with the greatest need. Complete textbook sets were prepared according to each school's curriculum, carefully packed, and distributed through our partner schools.

Our work did not end with distribution.

Chopan Trust staff visited schools to observe how the books were being used in classrooms, speak with teachers, and encourage students. These follow-up visits confirmed what we have always believed: when children own their books, they participate more confidently, complete homework more regularly, and become active learners rather than passive observers.

Stewarding Every Gift

Every donation entrusted to Chopan Trust has been used with care and transparency.

Funds received during this quarter supported:

• Printing and purchasing textbooks

• Preparing and packing school bags

• Transportation and distribution to partner schools

• Coordination with school leaders

• Monitoring visits to evaluate educational impact

Each contribution has become an investment in a child's future.

The Difference We Are Seeing

Although the greatest impact cannot always be measured with numbers alone, teachers consistently reported encouraging changes among students who received textbooks.

Children who once sat quietly at the back of the classroom are now raising their hands to answer questions.

Homework completion has improved because students finally have the resources to study at home.

Reading confidence continues to grow as children spend more time engaging with their own books instead of borrowing from classmates.

Most importantly, many students now arrive at school with renewed excitement because they know they have the tools needed to learn.

For families living in poverty, a textbook may seem like a small gift. Yet for a child, it removes barriers that once stood between them and their education.

Looking Forward

Our journey is far from complete.

Thousands of children attending low-cost Christian community schools in Pakistan still begin each school year without the textbooks they need. Many continue sharing books, copying lessons by hand, or simply sitting quietly because they cannot fully participate.

Our vision remains clear:

• Provide textbooks to 3,000 children.

• Reach more underserved schools across Pakistan.

• Ensure every child has the opportunity to learn with dignity.
