Girls with Potential: Strengthening Impact Through Partnerships

By Natalia Maravi | Head of Fundraising and Corporate Partnerships

In 2025, Girls with Opportunities (NCO) has opened a new three-year period (2025–2027) with the firm purpose of continuing to empower girls and adolescents from vulnerable and rural areas. The program seeks to strengthen socioemotional skills, promote financial education and STEAM, enhance comprehensive sexual education, and support life planning—contributing to systemic changes that foster leadership, equal opportunities, and holistic development.

Strategic partnerships with companies are a cornerstone of this new stage. These alliances not only bring resources and expertise but also open spaces where students can interact directly with professionals, discover diverse career paths, and envision themselves as future leaders. The active engagement of company employees—as mentors, role models, and facilitators—adds unique value by providing real-life experiences and inspiring girls to pursue their aspirations with confidence.

Up to July 2025, NCO has advanced its mission through meaningful collaborations, including:

  • In partnership with Entel Perú, project leaders experienced an immersive visit to the world of telecommunications. Women leaders from Entel shared their career journeys, inspiring students to dream big, trust their potential, and recognize their place in the fields of technology and innovation.
  • Through an alliance with Alicorp, a workshop on the Route of Opportunities strategy was held between Alicorp anf the Project Leaders of Girls with Opportunities. This methodology is designed to support their transition to higher education by providing personalized guidance, ongoing follow-up, and practical tools to access technical or university studies.
  • With the renewed and expanded commitment of Cummins Perú, the company—through a corporate volunteering program promoted by Komatsu-Mitsui, of which it is part—has increased its financial contribution to over USD 70,000 in 2025 to broaden the program’s reach and impact. Over the past three years, Cummins Perú has directly benefited more than 2,700 students in 32 schools across Amazonas, Cajamarca, Lambayeque, and Lima Metropolitan, through vocational mentoring, plant visits, entrepreneurship project advisory, and women’s leadership activities. These efforts, supported by over 300 employee volunteers nationwide, are part of Cummins Powers Women, the company’s global program to promote gender equality and the empowerment of girls and women. In recognition of this sustained commitment, CARE Perú awarded Cummins Perú the Agents of Change 2024 distinction in the category “Greatest Commitment and Contribution to Rural Education” during the Impacto CARE 2025 ceremony held in Lima on July 9, 2025.

These experiences not only expand students’ horizons but also strengthen the program’s sustainability by fostering collaboration with companies committed to gender equality and education.
