Global Girls is a few short months away from turning 25 years old! And as we enter this new period of adulthood, we are embracing several new mindsets. First, we are harnessing the principle of “stronger together” and collaborating with two other organizations from which we will be housed and run programs, Red Clay Dance Company and African International House, USA. Secondly, we are engaging the 25 members of the Global Girls Alumni group to act as mentors understanding that no one becomes a success on their own. And lastly, we are recommitting ourselves to international travel in 2026, 2028 and 2030 to invest in and empower girls in other counties using the Global Girls method. As we look back over the years, it’s sometimes hard to believe that a dream of helping girls discover their personal strengths, their authentic voices and the power of their choices would morph into a movement for principle- based winning. Thousands of girls have participated in our Chicago programs. Now, girls in Springfield, East St. Louis, Carbondale and Cairo, Illinois are signing up for another year of acting, dancing, and growing into womanhood whole and healthy in Global Girls programs. As Ryonn Gloster, the alumni chair, 17-year participant and filmmaker says, “Global Girls made me the person I am today – unafraid to be me, to step up to the plate and hit homeruns, to take on a challenge knowing I will persevere and win, and to give back so that other little girls can see me and know that they can be even better than me. I will always trumpet Global Girls and work to promote our slogan: “My Attitude is My Life. I love this organization and if any gets involved, they will love it too.”
