Empower Girls to Create, Code and Lead

After months of learning, collaboration, and innovation, our Girls in Tech participants proudly completed the 2026 Technovation Girls Challenge. Building on the projects we shared in our last update, 32 girls worked in nine teams to transform their ideas into mobile applications addressing real challenges in their communities. Along the way, they strengthened their skills in coding, design thinking, entrepreneurship, teamwork, and public speaking while gaining the confidence to present their solutions on a global stage.

We are excited to share that two teams—Power MARS and Nova Light—were recognized as Technovation Girls 2026 Global Semi-Finalists, an outstanding achievement among thousands of teams from more than 100 countries. Power MARS developed Mom HealthCare+, an app designed to provide mothers with accessible health information and practical resources, while Nova Light created Waste Tech, an app promoting better waste management and environmental responsibility. Remarkably, Power MARS reached the Global Semi-Finals for the second consecutive year, demonstrating the team's persistence and continued growth. Although neither team advanced beyond the Global Semi-Final stage, the experience has inspired all 32 participants to continue strengthening their technical skills and return even more determined for next year's competition.

One participant, whom we'll call Amina, entered the program curious about technology but unsure of her abilities. By the end of the competition, she had helped develop a mobile application, presented her team's work with confidence, and discovered a passion for using technology to solve community problems. Reflecting on the experience, she shared, "This competition showed me that I can create solutions that help people. I'm excited to keep learning and come back next year with an even better idea." Her journey reflects the growth we witnessed across the entire cohort, where every participant gained valuable technical, leadership, and problem-solving skills that will serve them well in the future.
