Thanks from Kilifi for supporting this project! MTG now has 45 trained peer educators, all young women football players. The peer educators hold sessions on many topics such as reproductive health and HIV/AIDS. They visit schools and every Saturday they are found at football pitches providing information and social support to girls who play football.
Good news on the pitch, too, MTG Under 13s won the Mathare Youth Sports Association international tournament in Nairobi in April 2008. See picture below. Keep an eye on Global Giving for the next MTG project for funding.
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
