Hello donors,
Greetings and tons of thanks from BREADS and all the girls who have now got a second chance at childhood with YOUR support!
Every girl that we have been able to rescue has a story to share. Stories that dwarf our efforts any day. The rescued girls who have had a primitive view of normal life in school now sing rhymes, play in the fields, speak out their thoughts and are more than glad that they are listened to. They now know what dreams are and what it is to achieve something.
While rescuing child labourers is in itself a challenge, rescuing girls had us go through multiple levels of building relationships in the communities. With all your support, we have been able to mobilise like minded groups, plan rescue operations, rescue girl child labourers and work out an individualistic plan for each girl. Rehabilitation is chosen to be institutional if the whereabouts of the girl’s family could not be traced or home repatriation has the risk of exploiting her labour once again. After rehabilitation, the girls undergo classes in our bridge schools after which they are sent to mainstream schools.
Sustaining them in this ambience where they get to experience childhood with all its fun and anxiety, growing to be productive members in the society, requires continuous support from people like you.
We are glad that you are there! Thank you very much for helping us win the September 2013 Challenge! We are now a permanent member in the Global Giving community!
Thank you from all of us @ BREADS - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UBCZk6z8JdE
