Alakh Nayan Mandir Eye Institute has been providing free services for the economically under privileged eye patients of regions in Southern Rajasthan, India. Cataract camps and services are being offered on a regular basis. These sight restoring surgeries are done for patients being brought to the base hospital after an initial screening at the camp site in villages.
During the last months from June 2017 till August 2017, more than 3504 patients have been screened through various camps. Over 1160 surgeries have been performed at the base hospital. 52 free eye screening camps were organized.
Support from more donors for such cataract surgeries will help us provide services to a large population of Southern Rajasthan where magnitude of blindness is quite high as compared to other parts of India.
