In the pursuit of fulfilling the mission of ‘Quality Vison to All’, Alakh Nayan Mandir Eye Centre provides eye care services in the remote rural regions of Southern Rajasthan through its various outreach activities, so as to reach out to the most vulnerable populations in the area. Various eye screening camps are being organized. Patient selected for surgery are being transported to the base hospital for the same in the most modern hi tech operation theatres to ensure quality and safety.
During the months of August, September and October 2018, a total of 1554 surgeries were done and out these 771 surgeries were totally free of cost. The free sight restoring surgeries were performed upon economically weaker sections of the community. All these patients were transferred to the base hospital for the same. Beside, numerous awareness campaigns have been organized in this period. World Sight Day was celebrated on 11 October 2018 in a village named Jhadol in Udaipur District of Southern Rajasthan. For the first time in this region, 11 Villages were declared, Avoidable Blindness Free Villages (ABFV) in Rajasthan through the continual efforts of various rural programs of Alakh Nayan Mandir since last 4 years. World Sight Day is celebrated to create awareness and importance about eye health in the general population.
Alakh Nayan Mandir keeps on putting its untiring efforts for reduction of avoidable blindness in this region. Support from generous donors would help us accelerate our efforts.
