Children in India Receive the Gift of Play

Engaging Play for Children!

Dear Friend,

All of us Karuna-Shechen in believe that every child should have the opportunity to reach their potential.

So when we found children in the formative years of 3 to 6 left alone in bare rooms in government-run nurseries in rural India, we developed a project to help.

Earlier this year, you supported our Gift of Play to a Child in India campaign to deliver educational toys and engaging play to under-served children at this critical time in their development.

Thanks to the generous support from you and 52 other donors, we were able to reach an additional 120 children in the remote region of Jharkhand, India.

Today, these children are benefiting from more trained nursery employees, dedicated coordinators who lead activities, and many more toys and equipment. It’s part of our innovative solution to fill gaps and reach the most vulnerable.

These 120 children are responding well and thriving. Children like Satyia look forward to their time and say, "I love it here!" This program will have a positive long-term impact on their development -- and you helped make it possible!
