In the months since our last update, we have been able to send 4 full shipment of supplies to our partners in various parts of the world. The supplies sent have been vital in ensuring continued support to displaced people and others facing hardship throughout the winter months.

Refugees in France

The list of items sent to Calais and Grande-Synthe is extensive. Protection from the cold is essential in northern France as temperatures drop, since many are forced to live outdoors. Our partners provide support to many, and thanks to a consistent donor of supplies in the UK we could facilitate the transport of things like:

  • Men’s thermals and long-sleeve tops
  • Women’s leggings and warm trousers
  • Tents and roll-mats
  • Children’s gloves, hats, scarves
  • Winter jackets (Children’s, Men’s, Women’s)
  • Blankets and sleeping bags

Asylum Seekers Greece & Bosnia

For our partner organisations in Bosnia and Greece, the main population they support are asylum seekers living in temporary accommodation, many in squats or refugee camps. Thanks to a donation from a company with a matching charitable programme, we were able to send 65,000 bars of soap to partner organisations to hand out.

Internally Displaced in Ukraine

We also sent soap bars that will be distributed in Ukraine by our partners. These will go to hospitals and individuals where it’s been difficult to get a steady hygiene supply due to the war, or simply to reduce the financial burden of having to purchase these supplies.

Families in Nashville Affected by Ice Storm and Power Outage

Finally, we were happy to support individuals and families in the greater Nashville area who were impacted by the extreme cold snap and ice storm which led to extensive power outages in February. Many were without power for weeks, causing severe cold and other issues like being unable to cook hot food.

Thanks to donors in New York, we could send supplies to local mutual aid orgs in Nashville. Items included:

  • Power generators
  • Fleece jackets
  • Oxygen tanks
  • Hot packs
  • Diapers

We truly hope to keep this project going through the winter this year. Help us fund the shipping cost by donating to the project!

With kindness /Sara
