“Cleanliness and order are not matters of instinct; they are matters of education, and like most great things, you must cultivate a taste for them” – Benjamin Disraeli
Dear well-wishers…
Nothing could sum up the meaning of holistic education and the importance of teaching the future of tomorrow the importance of cleanliness. The dream many a visionaries of the nation has been a clean nation. While Swachh Bharat (#MyCleanIndia) was launched by the Prime Minister of the country two years ago, a lot of people believed that it was just a political gimmick.
Today, students at Hippocampus Learning Centres Pvt. Ltd. know what it means to keep their classrooms, surrounding, and home clean. Yes, it might have started as an event towards which studnets might have been oblivious, but with a periodic repetition, the students successfully made a shift in the mind-sets of their own home and community.
Dusshera (Vijayadasami), is celebrated in a variety of ways in South India. It is seen as a day to express gratitude for success in life. Celebrations range from worshipping Durga to displaying colorful figurines, known as a golu. To respect the deities' sacrifices, Hindus revere small statues of Gods and Goddesses during the festival.
In Karnataka, the first term gets over right before the Dusshera vacation. This also marks the completion of 1st term of our Kindergarten Program across our centres.
Deepawali marks the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and good over evil. As our Children celebrate Diwali, with the purity in their heart they wish everyone goodness.
After an incredibly busy summer, the completion of training 300 new teachers alongwith the old ones, settling children in the classroom and using technology to move to a data driven organisation, Hippocampus is all set to make a move towards working on excellence across all the students - in our own centres, in the partners with our schools, and students across the franchisee centres.
