General Satsang Project

Dear Friends,

We are so happy to share with you the news, events and projects that took place during the closing months of 2016.

Monte Sahaja

Pond:

During these three months, the pond has been the main land-development project at Monte Sahaja, and has been graced immensely by Mooji’s guidance and presence in its unfolding. There were many stages completed of this complex project: rendering of the main pool; the landscaping stone-work to create the large natural stone steps and waterfall, all artfully guided by Mooji; and the construction of 3 platforms, extending over the filtering plant zones and water. As the pH levels stabilise, the pond will soon be filled with water  allowing the introduction of plants and fish. Final landscaping and beautifying will continue into early 2017.

Other projects

The refurbishing and furnishing of two houses in the village next to Monte Sahaja began this quarter. These spaces were created for two purposes: offices and accommodation, as there grows a need for more spaces to manage Satsang and Sangha activities, and for more accommodation. These will be refurbished fully in the spirit and feeling of Monte Sahaja.

Landcare

Going into the winter period, much landcare activity continued in maintaining, caring and nourishing the hundreds of trees and plants, and the earth. Landcare work happily continued with fertilising, mulching, gravelling, strimming, pruning, repotting, staking and roping trees. There were also 164 baby trees and 14 mature trees planted. In total this year in Monte Sahaja, a remarkable 801 new trees were lovingly planted, 368 bushes and 297 steps built. New swales and terraces were also created along some of the hills to help retain rainwater and to support the earth.

Sharing of Satsang

Events

A very beautiful and powerful 7 day Zmar retreat took place in mid-October, 2016. The Zmar premises had been affected considerably by a serious fire just a few weeks before the event, where the dining and kitchen areas were completely destroyed as well as some key contemplative areas, team accommodation, indoor swimming pool and spa facilities. In true Sahaja spirit and fully alive with Mooji’s grace, the one Monte Sahaja and Zmar family came together to facilitate the retreat taking place as scheduled. There was a confirmation within all hearts that we are in service to the spirit of Truth, and that grace was leading the way. Creative approaches used for the dining and kitchen facilities, and contemplative areas, and the openness and support from all involved—Zmar, the participants and the Mooji Team—was overwhelmingly touching to witness and experience.

The Satsangs were simultaneously interpreted into Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, German and French, supporting about 80 beings in the Satsang hall and on the broadcast to hear Mooji in their native tongue. Mooji is deeply touched by the service of the interpreters who selflessly transmit his pointing and convey his loving presence to so many beings.

For this Zmar retreat, concession spaces were granted to attend the retreat in-person, as well as broadcast concessions.

Sunday Satsang

There were 3 Sunday Satsangs and 3 Tea Satsangs in October, following this was the winter closing of Monte Sahaja. On these Sundays, over 500 beings squeezed together inside (and overflowed outside!) the Mooji Mandir in Monte Sahaja to sit in the presence of Mooji. The highest number of viewers who watched the broadcast live was 4,189 and many thousands more viewed the Satsang online later.

Skype Satsang

Mooji had 4 beautiful Skype Satsangs with Sangha groups in Italy, Israel and Brazil. Mooji has so much love for all the Sangha groups gathering together around the world, and when scheduling allows, he loves to connect in this way. These Sangha groups so value this precious opportunity—for example, 150 beings attended in Brazil—to deepen in Satsang and to grow in strength as a Sangha.

Mooji was also invited to participate in a Mindfulness conference with the Just Being Centre in Pune, India, and he joined them via Skype, sharing Satsang with the group gathered. The Skypes with Brazil and Pune are shared on Mooji TV (mooji.tv).

Web Offerings

As has been for many years, the Mooji Team continues to share fresh Satsang material with those worldwide. This quarter, 25 video and audio recordings were shared through Mooji TV, 20 of these also shared on YouTube. There were also 3 new podcasts uploaded. In 2016, a total of 167 recordings were uploaded on Mooji TV. By the end of 2016, the ‘Moojiji’ Channel on YouTube had a total of 1,117 videos, with 103,791 subscribers.

Sahaja Express—the subscription service which shares spontaneous Satsangs—also grew tremendously in 2016, with 1,397 subscribers by the end of the year, which is almost double compared with 2015.  

Subtitling and Translation

The Language Support team was newly created to manage and support the rapidly growing need for interpreting and translating. Due to the continued dedicated and heartfelt work of the Subtitles Team, many different YouTube videos were translated into various languages, reaching a total number of 1,028 translated videos. 10 videos were also dubbed and shared. Those beings who heartfully translate and interpret continually share how much this work benefits even themselves, and that it is a honour to share Mooji’s teachings in this way with so many around the world.

International Sangha

Our great joy is that more and more beings are powerfully connecting with Mooji’s teachings, and as such, more and more are joining together to share in this energy field of Satsang in their own communities. The International Sangha Team works intimately and with such immense heart with these groups all around the world, supporting them as they grow and continuing to act as a bridge between the different groups and Monte Sahaja. As such, by the end of 2016, there were 213 active Sangha groups, which is more than double compared with 2015. The support and strength that the beings in the groups are experiencing through joining together to share Satsang is undeniable, and the groups are spreading around the world like wildfire.

By continent, we currently have 4 groups in Africa, 69 in the Americas (North, Central and South), 24 in Asia, and 106 groups in Europe. In October, the International Sangha Team facilitated 20 representatives from the worldwide Sangha to come to Monte Sahaja. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to be in Mooji’s physical presence and to meet each other as part of this one family.

Words fail when trying to express the depth of gratitude, love and joy that all of us feel to be part of this one family and one Sangha, and in having encountered a being such as Mooji. The greatest joy is that so many people on this earth are discovering their true nature, the one Self, through the directness and simplicity of Mooji’s pointings and his infinite love.
