Gender-based violence remains a significant threat to the health, safety, and well-being of women and girls in Haiti. Through FAHM's community education programs, youth initiatives, and midwife-led outreach, we promote healthy relationships, gender equality, consent, and respectful care. By equipping young people and communities with knowledge and fostering environments of dignity and respect, we are helping to build a future where women and girls can live free from violence and reach their full potential.
When Marie Yollette, a young mother experiencing violence at home, sought help from a local Haitian midwife, she found a safe, compassionate space where she was listened to without judgment. The midwife provided emotional support, treated her immediate health needs, and connected her with additional services, helping Marie Yollette begin her journey toward safety and healing.
