Amid deteriorating humanitarian conditions and harsh weather exposure across the Gaza Strip, BESME INSANI executed an integrated emergency relief operation in informal displacement camps near Deir al-Balah. Designed to address immediate survival needs, the campaign provided both basic daily nutrition and weatherproofing shelter materials. During this intervention, our field team successfully distributed fresh daily bread bundles alongside 120 heavy-duty plastic tarpaulins ($4\times6\text{m}$) to 120 highly vulnerable displaced families (approximately 600 individuals).
Continuous exposure to intense summer sun had severely degraded existing tent covers across the settlement, leaving families unprotected against impending rain downpours. By providing thick, UV-resistant plastic tarpaulins, field teams enabled households to seal heat-damaged shelter roofs immediately. Simultaneously, delivering fresh, daily bread bundles provided critical nourishment to families struggling with extreme local market shortages and skyrocketing food prices.
Beneficiary registration was conducted in close coordination with local camp committees, prioritizing widow-headed households, families caring for infants, and elderly individuals without support. Due to ongoing security challenges and logistical constraints in Gaza, our team executed direct, decentralized distributions directly at tent blocks to prevent site overcrowding and ensure safe, dignified delivery.
The combined provision of fresh bread and waterproof plastic sheeting offers vital protection and immediate relief to vulnerable parents trying to safeguard their children. BESME INSANI remains fully dedicated to delivering essential shelter and food safety nets to displaced families living under severe hardship across the Gaza Strip.
