We are excited to share the first update on our project dedicated to protecting and preserving horses in Nigeria. Across communities, these animals remain vital to cultural identity, local economies, and traditional livelihoods. Yet, many continue to suffer from neglect, poor veterinary access, and shrinking grazing lands.
With your support, we are laying the foundation for impactful change.
Our team has begun early-stage coordination with local stakeholders, including equestrian groups, rural farmers, and animal welfare advocates, to identify the most vulnerable horses and communities in need. Initial field assessments reveal urgent demand for veterinary care, vaccinations, disease prevention, and proper nutrition—key components to improving horse health and reducing mortality rates.
We are also designing targeted interventions focused on:
This project directly aligns with critical global priorities, including animal protection, sustainable development, poverty reduction, climate resilience, and cultural heritage preservation. By improving horse welfare, we are also strengthening food security, economic stability, and environmental sustainability in underserved communities.
However, we cannot do this alone.
Right now, we still have $188,000 remaining and urgently need your support to begin full-scale implementation. Your donation—no matter the size—will help provide life-saving veterinary services, support conservation efforts, and empower communities to care for these animals sustainably.
Donate today to protect Nigeria’s horses, preserve cultural heritage, and support vulnerable communities.
