Talobeeg Foundation is pleased to share that the Galkaio School Clinics for Emergency Care & Health project continues to support safer and healthier learning environments for children.
During this reporting period, our team continued follow-up visits and technical support to participating schools to help keep their school clinics functional and responsive. The clinics remain an important first point of support for students who experience minor illness, injury, or other health concerns during the school day.
We have continued to work with trained teachers and student health volunteers, who play a vital role in identifying basic health needs, providing immediate first-aid support within their capacity, promoting good hygiene practices, and referring cases that require further medical attention. Schools have also received continued support through essential supplies and guidance on the use and maintenance of clinic materials.
Health awareness remains a key part of the project. Through ongoing engagement with students, teachers, and school communities, the project promotes practical messages on hygiene, disease prevention, nutrition, first aid, mental well-being, and healthy behaviours. These efforts help students become more informed and confident in protecting their own health and supporting their peers.
The project continues to demonstrate that school-based health support can contribute to safer learning spaces, improved awareness, and stronger links between education, health, and child well-being. Talobeeg Foundation remains committed to working with schools and relevant stakeholders to sustain the clinics and generate practical evidence for future replication and scale-up.
We sincerely thank our GlobalGiving supporters for standing with schoolchildren in Galkayo. Your generosity helps ensure that children can learn in safer, healthier, and more supportive school environments.
