From Learning to Earning: Our First Digital Heroes

By Saphira Suwanto | Head of Partnerships

Thanks to you, young people across Indonesia are gaining the tools and confidence to turn learning into livelihood.

Solve Education! trains young ambassadors, our Digital Heroes, to bring free digital learning on Edbot.ai to their own communities. 123 of them across Indonesia, from Bandung and Palu to Lombok, Maluku, and East Nusa Tenggara, now carry English, life skills, digital literacy, and employability skills to the people around them. Because they are local, the learning stays rooted in their communities. This is the model your support helps us extend to 10,000 youth.

Topik’s story

Topik Taslika from Bandung has been learning with Solve Education! since 2024. As a Digital Hero, he received a laptop as a learning incentive. Before that, his community’s learning activities relied on paper notes and a few shared devices.

Now Topik and his youth organization, PIK-R, use Edbot.ai to build life skills among their own team. This week, he told us they plan to bring the same lessons to teenagers in Paseh District, Bandung Regency. As he put it (translated from Bahasa Indonesia):

“It is very useful, especially for neighborhood education sessions using a projector. Everyone can learn together even when we don’t bring phones, or there is no signal or data.”

Topik now uses the English, life skills, and work skills courses for his own growth and to help others grow.

More ambassadors, more doors opened

Rahmad, a final-year student in Palu, started with no laptop for his thesis. He went on to visit schools across Sulawesi and invite hundreds of young people to learn English. Tania, who once climbed hills to find a signal for her own lessons, taught the children in her village. Today, she works with Solve Education!.

Why it works

Our GAIN Framework (Gamification, AI Coach, Incentives, Network) keeps learners engaged until learning becomes opportunity. A laptop is an Incentive that keeps a young person learning, and we provided these tools to our ambassadors to support their local activities. Each ambassador becomes the Network that carries that learning to others.

What’s next

Topik and PIK-R are preparing to reach teenagers in Paseh, and more ambassadors are turning what they learn into opportunities for their peers. Thank you for making that possible.
