Last month, we had lots of help with our projects and we were able to educate some of our teens on how to grow food and raise chickens! As the academic year for Thai schools finished in the middle of March, we had lots of time to teach some of the younger children how to be involved in our gardening and eco projects. The children really enjoyed getting their hands, dirty and planting plants and also learning to look after the chickens. This is a great way for them to use their time and also develop skills that can help them in their future.
Our hydroponics program is going well and it’s great to be working with companies who cannot only volunteer their time to help establish the hydroponic garden, but also provide the materials that we need to start up the project. Our current gardeners plant the seeds and raise them into small seedlings. The seedlings are then transplanted into our hydroponic tubs which are made out of recycled, styrofoam boxes and cups. We are the master recyclers and always looking for new ways to use old things to benefit the environment and the people that we feed and work with. Alone we can only do a small amount, but when we join hands together, then we can do great things! Team work makes the dream work!
