August and September are always exciting months as we prepare ourselves for field work to combat the deadly disease of Rabies through awareness and vaccination drives. Your commitment to the cause enabled us to vaccinate more than 1000 companion animals as we comemmorated the whole month of September as the World Rabies Month. This year also saw unprecedented support from government stake-holders that made the campaigns much more effective.
These two months were hectic with several rescues undertaken by our team and more than 100 animals were rescued from life-threatening situations. We are delighted to inform that many of them recovered fully and are back in their territories thanks to donations received from incredible donors like you. We also welcomed several schools to our facility where young children got the opportunity to interact with our rescue animals.
As always, heartwarming rescue stories keep us all motivated. When Prasanth was rescued from the streets, a severe maggot infestation near his eye had left him in total agony. Once he was stabilized, we helped him navigate his healing journey with a lot of good food, love, and care. Under the watchful eyes of our veterinary team, the raw wound closed to a faint scar. He is completely healed today and released back to his territory.
When a student spotted Mani bleeding and terrified after a road traffic accident, she didn't just walk away; she alerted us right away that made all the difference to Mani's life! Rushing him for an emergency surgery where we had to amputate his crushed leg that was beyond repair, Mani endured all the trauma stoically. Now fully healed he spends his days prancing around effortlessly on three legs, soaking up all the loving hugs he can get.
The number of permanent rescues at our sanctuary has been growing steadily. We are grateful for the many compassionate souls like you who have stepped forward to support their healing journey. It takes just USD 50 to sponsor a permanent resident for an entire month. Hope you can continue to support us to care for them.
Thank you!
