The abrupt funding freeze by the new U.S. administration threw global LGBTIQ organizations into crisis virtually overnight: life-saving health and safety programs - halted; advocacy efforts - silenced; grassroots groups - shut down. Outright International is at the forefront of supporting and advocating for LGBTIQ groups affected by this brutal new reality. We are disbursing emergency grants to ensure movement survival. But we need your help - urgently - to successfully help and respond.
Across the globe, because of the freeze, organizations like Outright-alongside 130 LGBTIQ groups in 50 countries that we support-have been forced to suspend critical, life-saving work, humanitarian relief, public health initiatives, human rights protections and movement resilience. LGBTIQ people, who are already disproportionately impacted by discrimination and instability, feel the devastating effects. Without urgent action, we risk losing decades of progress for LGBTIQ equality.
