Astrid in Sherborne
Astrid, the coordinator of the Fundacion Ruach, was in the Netherlands and England from 15th March to 3rd April. To tell about the work in the community home and the activity club. To show pictures and to say 'thank you' to all the people who in some way support the work in Juigalpa.
On 19th March she made a presentation about Ruach’s work at a meeting in Sherborne, organized by Eric and his wife Rosaleen.
Eric has been actively involved with Ruach’s work for many years and has also been able to create interest in Ruach’s work in Sherborne, including the members of the Anglican Parish there.
It was heartwarming to meet with a group of about 30 people and to sense their involvement and to answer their questions. The cherry on the cake was that the donation box, to which no particular attention was drawn, contained £270 for our work in Juigalpa.
Eric and Rosaleen, many thanks for your effort in promoting our work in a widening circle of friends! On behalf of Ruach, Rosaleen presented a drawing made by Renee, (one of the participants of our activities centre who would like to become the best drawer of Nicaragua), to Mr John Crossman, the chairman of the Faith-in-Action Committee of the Anglican Parish. Astrid had requested Renee to make some drawings for Ruach’s friends abroad. In Sherborne as well as in Leiden Renee’s artwork has now found pride of place, as a creative way of expressing our gratitude for the support we received.
