Hi, thank you for your financial support for the Kimbilio Project to provide sewing training for mothers of former street children. Our sewing progam has already seen over one hundred mums succesfully complete the four month course. Upon graduation, each mum receives a sewing machine and start up kit, which should enable her to generate enough income to be able to feed and educate her children.

This year, we have begun two new courses. Each course has four mums who learn not only to sew, but how to calculate a price which will cover their costs and give them some profit, but which will be affordable for neighbours who may not have a lot of money. They will learn how both to construct a garment and how to repair a garment. The paper sewing patterns that can be bought in the West are not available in Africa, so the mums study how to transfer actual body measurements onto flat pieces of cloth which will translate into comfortable and flattering 3D garments.

Thank again for your support
