By Andrew Mullens | Kimbilio Support
Thank you so much for your financial support for the Kimbilio project to provide sewing training for mothers of former street children. Many children end up on the streets as their parents are not able to feed them. Providing parents with the chance of learning sewing skills enables them to earn a living and provide education and food for their children.
Kimbilio has been providing these sewing workshops now for eight years and we are seeking the funding to run the next workshop. While many women know how to sew manually in the DRC, few know how to machine sew or have the business skills to make a living at sewing. By providing this training and their own sewing machines, Kimbilio is giving the young mothers the skills and equipment to earn a living and so be able to leave poverty behind.
