YOCUPA in Zambia protects children and youth through school-based Anti-Sexual Harassment Action Groups, trauma-informed peer support, Theatre for Community Action, and a 24/7 child protection hotline. This campaign will help YOCUPA continue child safety outreach in schools and communities, support youth leaders, strengthen reporting pathways, and provide the tools needed to coordinate hotline, training, and prevention work.
Children and youth in Zambia face sexual abuse, school-based harassment, online exploitation, and limited safe reporting options. YOCUPA's work is urgent because major funding disruptions have reduced support for child protection programming just as demand is growing. Without flexible funding, school outreach, ASHAG coordination, trauma-informed training, hotline planning, and reporting work become harder to sustain.
Donations will support YOCUPA's child protection and youth leadership work in Zambia. Funds will help coordinate school-based ASHAGs, train youth in abuse prevention and peer support, integrate eCPR trauma-informed response, conduct Theatre for Community Action outreach, support hotline implementation, and replace essential technological equipment needed for reports, communication, training materials, and daily program coordination.
This project will help YOCUPA build stronger child protection systems for up to 600 students in schools, communities, and online spaces. More youth will be trained to recognize abuse, report harm safely, support peers, and lead prevention efforts. Long term, this means safer schools, stronger reporting pathways, more trauma-informed support, and a local organization better equipped to protect children from abuse and exploitation.
