Since the shutdown of Guatemala on March 16th, 2020 and the suspension of classes across the country, the team of CasaSito had to close its offices and stop its activities.
The Teacher Development Program that aims at awakening the teachers spirit of critical thinking and leadership, was supposed to be launched in April. Due to the restrictions imposed by the Guatemalan government in the wake of COVID-19, CasaSito’s team decided to postpone the start of the Program to 2021.
Nevertheless, the group of 11 teachers from public and private schools that have been selected for being part of the Program, will receive an online pre-qualification course during the coming 6 months that will introduce them to tools of debating techniques, motivate them during these difficult times and prepare them for the actual program to be initiated in February 2021.
Our team is convinced that the Program will be kicked off successfully with motivated and prepared teachers as soon as we are back to the "new normal".
