Project Report | Jan 28, 2020
Enhancing teaching profession within Guatemala

By Silke Wahl | Development Consultant

In January 2020, CasaSito launched the evaluation process of interested teachers that will participate in the association’s Teacher Development pilot project. The Program aims at awakening the teachers spirit of critical thinking and leadership, enabling them to become more effective teachers and successful change-makers within their schools.

Thanks to an additional donation received in December 2019, 12 teachers of private and public schools will receive a partial scholarship and participate in personal development workshops and activities throughout the year. Teachers will gain the necessary tools to effectively teach the basic curriculum, public speaking and critical thinking within their classrooms and will be more confident and passionate about their daily work.

It is estimated that at least 400 students annually will gain basic skills in critical thinking, problem solving, and public speaking as well as the standard curriculum.
