Fuel Relief Fund (FRF) — Nepal Deployment Update

Fuel Relief Fund (FRF) continues to expand our operations throughout the affected areas of Nepal. Our local partnerships and relationships have once again proven invaluable, allowing us to move quickly, identify critical needs, and provide fuel directly to the people and organizations working on the ground.

We have returned to our fuel point at the critical intersection serving traffic traveling from Kathmandu and Bidur toward Dhunche and the surrounding areas. This location has become an important stop for vehicles traveling into some of the hardest-hit communities. With very limited access to fuel along these mountain routes, we have continued topping off vehicles so that aid workers, local organizations, and families can make the long journey safely without the risk of becoming stranded.

We also provided fuel to a food distribution center in Bidur that has been working tirelessly to provide meals to people affected by the disaster. Their operation depends on vehicles to transport food and supplies, and our fuel support is helping them continue reaching people who need assistance.

Our team has now traveled farther into the affected region and reached Dhunche, where the need for fuel is particularly acute. We were able to provide fuel to the only hospital in Dhunche, helping ensure that their generators and essential operations can continue despite the ongoing challenges with fuel availability. We also supplied fuel to a local clinic, supporting another critical medical resource serving the community.

In addition to supporting medical facilities and humanitarian organizations, FRF has been providing fuel to local military personnel and other first responders who are actively responding to the disaster. These teams are working under extremely difficult conditions, and their vehicles are essential for reaching affected communities, transporting supplies, and responding to emergencies. By providing fuel free of charge, we are helping keep these critical responders moving when fuel is otherwise difficult or impossible to obtain.

This is exactly why Fuel Relief Fund exists. In a disaster, fuel is often an invisible part of the response, but it is one of the most important resources. A hospital can have doctors and medical supplies, but without fuel for its generators, it may not be able to function. A food distribution center can have thousands of meals prepared, but without fuel for its vehicles, those meals cannot reach the people who need them. First responders can be ready to help, but without fuel, they cannot get where they are needed.

Our next mission will take us back into Dhunche, where we will continue supplying fuel to the hospital and clinic while also beginning to provide fuel directly to local residents who are struggling to obtain it. We want to make sure that our assistance reaches not only organizations responding to the disaster, but also the families and individuals who are trying to navigate these incredibly difficult circumstances.

FRF continues to work closely with local partners because they understand the needs of their communities better than anyone. Their knowledge allows us to identify where fuel can make the greatest difference and ensures that our resources are reaching people who truly need them.

We are an all-volunteer organization, and all of the fuel we provide is completely free of charge. We do not charge the hospitals, clinics, food distribution centers, first responders, or local families we support.

The further we travel into the affected areas, the more clearly we see how critical fuel is to every part of the disaster response.

Fuel is what keeps the entire relief effort moving.

FRF will continue this work for as long as we have the funding to do so. Every donation allows us to purchase more petrol, diesel, and other essential fuel resources and put them directly into the hands of people working to save lives and support their communities.

We are incredibly grateful for everyone who has supported this deployment so far. There is still an enormous amount of work to be done, and we intend to keep moving forward.
