We would like to let our GlobalGiving donors know that 99% of women still depend on wood fuel for cooking in rural communities of ONURA village. Smoke from fire is the major cause of death from respiratory disease in southern Sudan. Trees that are cut down are used for fuel which causes deforestation.

When rural people switch to wood clay stoves it leads to improve health and better environment. With help from our GlobalGiving donors, Hope Ofiriha has been busy training women in production of fuel efficient wood burning clay stoves. The project three practical benefits: 1) improve health to women, 2) better environment, 3) ongoing income to families from sale of clay stoves.

Hope ofiriha is looking for funding so that several women can be trained in production techniques in fuel efficient wood burning clay stoves, and marketing skills.

You will be hearing from us again in the next three months with latest up from the field. Thanks for your ongoing support until this project has achieved the goals.

Thanks for reading this report!
