Magwi County: Most peaceful Region of South Sudan

By William Logai Ochieng | Executive director

This what I do to provide basic needs!
This what I do to provide basic needs!

Several thousands of citizens of Magwi County thronged various parts of the County to commemorate four years since it seceded from Sudan.

At Magwi Freedom Square, various speakers made strong calls for peace and reconciliation among residents in the new nation.

Magwi, the most tranquil region, is one of the Counties blessed with peace since the outbreak of conflict in the country in mid-December 2013.

Thanks for your continued generous donation to Clay Stove project.

Hope Ofiriha will continue to grant microloan to this thriving commercial activity to entrepreneurs in Namboole, an outskirt of Kampala city.

The training we offer aims to improve their skills in production, marketing, uncomplicated arithmetic, and record keeping. These added values make them victorious in their operation. The incomes they generate help to provide basic needs in their households and pay fees to keep children at school. Also, to pay medical costs whenever a family member falls sick.

We will add together money from GlobalGiving donors, and cash from another source to give the loan to a group of 20 women. These loans are repayable within three months due to inflation that has hit South Sudanese and Ugandan currencies. The clients in Magwi County are badly affected, than those in Uganda. Five new women will be trained locally in Namboole by a group leader.

While Ugandan currency had lost value in the world money market due to the current recession, the costs of living are still affordable.

Hope Ofiriha sends a new field up after a quarter to let you know how your contribution is impacting the lives of these women and their children.
