From Wood to Brick: Building Hope in Rural Uganda

Joy Makers Charity Foundation is pleased to share an update on our ongoing project, From Wood to Brick, Building Hope in Rural Uganda. Thanks to the generous support of our donors, especially the $150 contribution from the anonymous donor who has so far been our only donor here on GlobalGiving.  We have made significant strides in the construction of a five-classroom block at Echoes of Joy Primary that will serve over 400 children in the rural community of Namizi. The building has now reached the beam level, marking a critical milestone in the construction process. This progress has been made possible through a combination of online donations and other local fundraising efforts, which have enabled us to purchase essential materials such as bricks, cement, and reinforcement bars.

Despite the progress, there is still much work to be done to complete the classroom block. The next phases of construction include roofing, plastering, flooring, and installing doors and windows, all of which require additional funding. We are also working to ensure the building is equipped with proper furniture and learning materials to create a conducive environment for the students. The community has shown tremendous support, with local volunteers contributing their time and labor to keep the project moving forward. However, financial resources remain a critical need to ensure the timely completion of this vital project.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our donors and supporters for their contributions, which have brought us closer to achieving our goal. The new classroom block will not only provide a safe and durable learning space but also inspire hope and opportunity for the children in this underserved community.
