Peraj National Meeting 2026: Empowering Those Who

By Peraj Mexico | Peraj Mexico

The 2026 Peraj National Meeting, hosted in partnership with the Autonomous University of Querétaro, brought together university mentors, program coordinators, and representatives from participating institutions across Mexico. The event provided an opportunity to exchange experiences, strengthen skills, and celebrate the powerful impact that mentoring has on the lives of thousands of children and young people.

This year’s gathering focused on University Mental Health, a topic that is increasingly important for the well-being and personal development of the students who serve as mentors in the program. Through keynote presentations, workshops, and reflection sessions, participants explored strategies for self-care, emotional well-being, resilience, and building supportive networks essential tools for those who guide and inspire others through mentorship.

One of the most meaningful aspects of the meeting was the active participation of the mentors themselves. They are the driving force behind Peraj and the heart of the program’s one-to-one mentoring model. Their commitment, empathy, and dedication provide children and adolescents with a trusted role model who helps strengthen their self-confidence, academic motivation, and future aspirations.

Throughout the event, mentors shared personal stories that highlighted not only the positive influence they have on the children, but also the profound impact the experience has on their own lives. Many described how mentoring has enhanced their leadership, communication, teamwork, and social awareness skills while offering a unique opportunity for personal growth and community engagement.

The focus on university mental health reinforced an important message: to effectively support others, mentors must also care for their own well-being. The meeting therefore created a space where young mentors could voice their needs, access practical tools for emotional wellness, and reaffirm the value of their role within the Peraj community.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors and partners, Peraj was able to provide this important space for learning, recognition, and professional development. Every mentor who receives training and support has the potential to positively influence the life of a child, multiplying the program’s impact in communities throughout Mexico.

The 2026 Peraj National Meeting reaffirmed a guiding principle of our work: when we invest in our mentors, we strengthen the entire chain of social impact. They are at the center of this transformative journey and one of the key reasons why Peraj
continues to change lives year after year.
