Five girls from rural and Indigenous communities in Paraguay will represent their country at the FIRST Global Challenge 2026 in South Korea. Students at Centro Educativo Mbaracayu, they study environmental science, entrepreneurship, digital skills, and leadership. This project will raise US$40,000 to cover travel, robotics materials, mentoring, and preparation so the Green Girls can bring climate-focused innovation to the world stage.
Girls from rural and Indigenous communities in Paraguay face limited access to STEM education, international exposure, and leadership opportunities. Even when they show extraordinary talent, the cost of travel, training, technology, and competition participation can prevent them from accessing spaces where their voices and ideas deserve to be heard.
This project will raise US$40,000 to support the Green Girls robotics team from Centro Educativo Mbaracayu as they prepare for and participate in the FIRST Global Challenge 2026. Funds will help cover robotics materials, technical preparation, mentoring, travel, accommodation, and related costs, ensuring the team can compete with confidence and represent Paraguay on a global stage.
This experience will strengthen the students' STEM skills, confidence, leadership, and future education and employment opportunities. When they return, they will inspire other girls in rural Paraguay to pursue science, technology, engineering, environmental protection, and entrepreneurship. The project also reinforces a larger message: girls from vulnerable communities can create solutions to global challenges when they are given access to education, tools, and opportunity.
