PROGRESS REPORT

By Marc balolebwami | Director

DEAR DONOR,

We would like to warmly thank you for your continued support of the project FROM CONFLICT TO COHESION THROUGH YOUTH INTEGRATION . Your contribution, though modest so far, makes a real difference in our community.

PROGRESS REPORT

Although the project has not yet secured the financial resources necessary for its full deployment, significant preparatory steps have been taken to ensure a successful and rapid launch as soon as funding becomes available.

Over the past few months, the project team has continued its dialogue with local authorities, community leaders, youth representatives, and civil society organizations in the targeted areas of the Democratic Republic of Congo. These consultations have confirmed the urgent need for comprehensive reintegration services for former child and youth combatants and have strengthened local ownership of the initiative.

The initial criteria for identifying beneficiaries were developed in collaboration with community stakeholders to ensure a transparent and inclusive selection process. Preliminary partnerships with vocational training centers, psychosocial counselors, and local mentors were explored, enabling the project to rapidly implement training and support services upon receipt of funding.

The team continues its advocacy and fundraising efforts by presenting the project to potential donors and partners, while also raising public awareness of the importance of youth reintegration as the foundation for lasting peace. Community members have expressed unwavering support for the initiative and their willingness to participate in reconciliation and social cohesion activities.

In parallel, implementation tools, including monitoring and evaluation frameworks, training plans, and operational procedures, have been developed to ensure the smooth running of the project. These preparations will significantly reduce the time required to launch activities as soon as resources become available.

The project remains active and ready to be implemented. The team is committed to transforming the lives of 150 former child and youth combatants by providing them with vocational skills, psychosocial support, economic opportunities, and prospects for peaceful reintegration into their communities.

We sincerely thank our current and future supporters for their trust in this initiative. Every contribution will help transform vulnerable young people into productive citizens and ambassadors of peace in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
