From 12 Years of Bonded Labour to Freedom: A Family’s New Beginning: A Story of Freedom, Dignity, and Hope
For nearly 12 years, one vulnerable family lived and worked at a brick kiln under extremely difficult circumstances.
When the family first arrived at the brick kiln, their eldest daughter was still a very young child. Today, she is 17 years old. Twelve important years of her childhood have passed in an environment shaped by hard labour, uncertainty, and limited opportunities.
The family has three daughters and one young son. Like any parents, they dreamed of giving their children a safe and better future. They wanted their children to have the opportunity to learn, grow, and live with dignity.
But poverty and the harsh realities of brick kiln labour kept the family trapped for years.
For this family, freedom was not simply a dream.
It was a desperate need.
A New Chapter Begins
By the grace of God, and through the efforts of Moses Welfare Foundation with the support of generous donors, this family is now free from bonded labour at the brick kiln.
After 12 years of hardship, the family can finally look toward the future with renewed hope.
For the children, this freedom means more than leaving a place of difficult labour. It means having the possibility of a future shaped by education, safety, dignity, and opportunity rather than by the brick kiln.
For the eldest daughter, who was only a little girl when the family arrived, reaching the age of 17 marks an important turning point. Her childhood cannot be returned, but her future can still be different.
The Power of Your Support
This story is a reminder that your support can create change that goes far beyond financial assistance.
For this family, support meant opening a door that had remained closed for 12 years.
It meant freedom.
It meant dignity.
It meant hope.
And most importantly, it gave the children an opportunity to begin imagining a future beyond the brick kiln.
Every contribution to this work helps Moses Welfare Foundation stand alongside vulnerable families who are struggling to break free from cycles of poverty and exploitation.
What Happens Next
Freedom is the beginning of a new journey.
Moses Welfare Foundation will continue working to support vulnerable families as they move toward greater stability and dignity. We also remain committed to creating opportunities for children so that poverty does not force another generation into the same cycle.
Our goal is not only to help families leave hardship behind, but to help them build a future filled with hope and opportunity.
A Message to Our Donors
To every donor who made this work possible:
Thank you.
Your generosity helped change the story of one family.
For years, this family knew the hardship of brick kiln labour. Today, they know the meaning of freedom.
You may never fully see the difference your contribution makes, but for a family that has spent 12 years waiting for a new beginning, your support can mean everything.
One Family. One New Beginning.
One family is now free.
One family can look toward tomorrow with hope.
And four children have a chance to imagine a future beyond the brick kiln.
This is why we continue our work.
Because freedom can change a family.
Hope can change a future.
And together, we can help break the cycle of bonded labour for generations to come.
