At just one year old, every new movement and every small achievement can be an important step in a child’s development.
Evelyn’s parents noticed early on that her motor development seemed to be progressing more slowly than they expected. Concerned, they sought advice from several doctors. They were told that children develop at different rates and that they should give her more time.
But as the months passed, Evelyn’s parents continued looking for ways to help their little girl. That is how they found the Heart of a Child Foundation’s Therapy Center.
The right support at the right time
When Evelyn first came to our Center at the age of one, she was not yet able to sit up on her own.
Following an initial assessment, she began physiotherapy sessions, with exercises tailored to her age, abilities and individual needs.
And soon, progress began to show.
After just a few weeks of therapy, Evelyn was able to sit up independently. She can now support herself on her hands and knees and is beginning to crawl.
For a child working to develop essential motor skills, achievements like these are important milestones. And for her parents, every new movement brings joy and renewed confidence.
Every step matters
Evelyn’s story is also a reminder of how important it is for parents to have access to specialized support when they have concerns about their child’s development.
At our Therapy Center for Children with Disabilities, our specialists work with children who need additional developmental support, providing therapies tailored to each child’s individual needs and abilities.
For Evelyn, the journey has only just begun. We will continue to be there for her and her family, step by step, from one milestone to the next.
Help Us Make Therapy Accessible to More Children
Every month, 30–40 Romanian and Ukrainian refugee children receive individualized therapy at our Center, supporting a wide range of intellectual and physical disabilities and developmental challenges.
Unfortunately, limited funding means we cannot yet provide these services completely free of charge to every child. Families are asked to make a small contribution towards the cost of our specialized therapists — but even this can be difficult for some.
Your support, no matter the amount, can help us make therapy more accessible and give more children the chance to reach their potential.
Every contribution matters. Every step forward matters.
