Challenge

Bangladesh is increasingly affected by climate change, deforestation, biodiversity loss, rising temperatures, and soil degradation. Many children have limited opportunities to participate in environmental action. Without engaging the next generation, these challenges will continue to grow. This project empowers children to become environmental stewards by giving each child a tree to plant and care for, fostering lifelong responsibility for protecting nature.

Solution

The One Child, One Tree initiative will provide 100,000 tree seedlings to children in schools and communities across Bangladesh. Each child will receive a tree and basic training on planting and care. By nurturing their own tree, children will develop a lifelong connection with nature, inspire their families, and help increase tree cover, strengthen climate resilience, and protect biodiversity in their communities.

Long-Term Impact

By enabling 100,000 children to plant and care for their own trees, this project will create lasting environmental and social impact. It will increase tree cover, improve biodiversity, enhance air quality, reduce soil erosion, and strengthen climate resilience. Children will develop lifelong environmental values, inspiring their families and communities to protect nature and nurturing a new generation of environmental stewards.
