Dear Donors,
For many elderly people living in low-income communities in Nigeria, getting sick comes with a difficult question: “Can I afford my medicine this month?”
For someone living with high blood pressure or diabetes, treatment is not something they can simply stop when the money runs out. Yet this is the reality facing many older people we serve. Some have no regular income, while others depend on relatives who are also struggling to pay for food, rent, school fees, and other daily needs.
Orphans face a similar struggle. Malaria or a common infection that could be treated early can become more serious when there is no money for a medical test, medicine, or transportation to a clinic.
This is why your support matters.
Through your support, our team brings free medicines and basic medical care directly to elderly people and orphans who need them. Rather than simply handing out medicines, our doctors, nurses, and health workers first assess each person's health needs. Blood pressure, blood sugar, and malaria tests are carried out where needed before treatment is provided.
We are preparing medicines for hypertension, diabetes, malaria, and common infections, along with basic medical supplies for community visits. For elderly people and orphans living with disabilities who may find it difficult to travel to a clinic, our team will also provide home visits where possible.
We think about the elderly woman who should not have to choose between buying food and buying her blood pressure medicine. We think about the orphan who should not have to remain sick simply because there is no money for malaria treatment.
These are the people at the heart of this project.
To every donor who has chosen to stand with them, thank you. Your kindness is helping us provide medicines and care to people who might otherwise have nowhere else to turn.
If this project speaks to you, please consider sharing it with your family and friends. You can also become an individual fundraiser for this project and invite others to join you in helping us reach more elderly people and orphans in need.
Thank you for caring and for being part of their story.
With gratitude,
Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
