Preparing to Provide Free Tests and Medicines

By Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri | Project Leader

Dear Donors,

Thank you for continuing to support our project, Free Medicines for Elderly People and Orphans in Nigeria. Your donations are helping us prepare medicines and medical supplies for elderly people and orphans from low-income households who struggle to afford healthcare.

Since our previous report, our team has continued preparations for the first phase of the project. More medicines and basic medical supplies have been added to the stock already secured with support from our donors.

During the first field activity, our doctors and other health workers will assess each beneficiary before medicines are given. They will conduct basic health checks and tests for common illnesses, including malaria, high blood pressure and blood sugar abnormalities where medically indicated. Beneficiaries who require treatment will receive appropriate medicines based on their test results and the doctor's assessment.

This process will help our medical team determine each person's health needs before providing treatment. Anyone whose condition requires further investigation or care beyond what can be provided during the activity will be referred to an appropriate health facility.

Our team is also preparing the beneficiary list and organizing the medicines, testing materials and other supplies required for the field activity. Priority will be given to elderly people and orphans who have difficulty paying for medical tests, prescribed medicines and basic healthcare.

The funds received so far are being used to purchase medicines, medical supplies and materials needed for the health screening and treatment activities.

After the first field activity, we will publish a new report stating the number of people screened, illnesses identified, beneficiaries treated and how project funds were spent. We also plan to share photographs from the activity, with appropriate consent.

We are grateful to every donor supporting this project. Your donations are helping us prepare to provide medical tests, medicines and treatment to people who may otherwise go without the care they need.

Thank you for standing with elderly people and orphans in Nigeria.

With gratitude,
Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
