By Ileana Leyba de Villegas | Project Leader. Executive Director to JA Venezuela

Learning the Shark Tank
Learning the Shark Tank

During the month of July we decided to join efforts with various talented volunteers who had developed a Canvas Model address to youngsters, in order to apply an innovation Camp devoted to challenge young people to find financial solutions to their every day problems in a country where there is a lack of currency to afford livelihood due to missmanagement of money emision  by the nation's Central Bank and three continuous changes in the bills issued by that institution.

Responding to the education we had previously provided to these youngsters, we made an alliance with the Technial High School where implementation of our programs had taken place and invited them to a One day Challenge looking forward to motivate and inspire them to think out of the box in search to digital financial solutions and ideas for entrepreneurship based in the financial education we had provided at school.

Also in alliance with ACCEDE, an incubator that is part of the Global Entrepreneur System which lend their spaces for this interesting initiative, as well as the support of 5 volunteers for the training and 5 executives that acted as jury for the final evaluation, young students who were attending their 12th grade at a low income technical high school met in the center to receive financial entrepreneurial education and problem solving tools during 6 hours, allowing them for presenting innovative solutions to find ways to solve their own currency problems .  Ideas collected were awesome, their attitude, entrepreneurial conditions flourished at a time, ,and the competence served as anfor their feeding at school. This was a very illustrative example of how young people can put their ideas to solve their personal problems through education , while proving that innovation arises when kids are challenge to develop self sustainable initiatives.

Thanks to our donors support along this quarter, this initiative took place and supported 28 youngsters to implement ideas for a better quality of theirs and their families life.
