 Summary:

Family is the best place for a child to grow and develop. Every child has a right to loving and caring family. In family children develop their personality get love, care, affection and protective environment. Alternative care is a community-based arrangement of care for orphans and other vulnerable children who are not under the custody of their biological parents. It is a care for those children who are living without parental care.

Through this project we are targeting to facilitate 100 such children placed in Foster family and guarantee that they ensured with access to free education, two nutritious meals and basic health care facilities and live a life full of joy, happiness and dignity.

Intervention

During the period we have identified 100 children who are parentless and stated intervention with small individual donation and existing project support. So far we have done the following

  1. Facilitate Individual Care Plan
  2. Counseling and support
  3. Ensure access to basic services

Facilitate Individual Care Plan:

Each and every child is special, with distinct life history and a unique set of current circumstances. Individual case history and planning is the most basic part of the intervention During the period project staffs visited households of orphan and vulnerable children , assess the vulnerability, councel the child & care givers, interacted with different stakeholders and prepared their database ,home study report and individual care plan (with the prescribed format of JJ Act ) and produced  the child to welfare committee who is primarily responsible statutory body in the districts for such children and finalize the placement arrangement.

Counseling and Support:Out of identified 100 children most of the children are from difficult background and circumstances compelled them to live in depression, trauma, anxiety etc. They need moral and psychological support .Trained staffs of organization are providing counseling support in a regular interval.

Ensure access to basic services

It has been ensured that all children avail their basic rights of food, health, education etc. All the children has been mainstreamed at formal schools and staffs follow that children go to school and support provided for book, pen, pencil, khata ,school bag etc. Food pkt. support provided to needy children. Health check up camp organized and medicine provided as per need.

The children are happy after receiving the support for their need. These all happened due to the donor’s precious support. We greatly appreciate to the donor for their support. Donors support make possible for children to access education, food, health care for a sustainable life.

Story of Changes

DANIAL WAITING to a dignified life

Danial (not original name), a child of an unwed mother who was isolated by the society and was ashamed being a child of an unwed mother. Poverty and humiliating life was the barrier for development. In the meanwhile YCDA identified the child, gave regular counseling and his family member, discussed with Village Child Protection Committee member and made conducive atmosphere. Based on the need YCDA provided food and education support for his development and encourage him to go to school regularly. This year he appeared in examination and got 2nd division in matriculation examination and took admission in higher secondary College in commerce subject. He wants to be an accountant.

Sponsorship support of YCDA made her to secure 1st position

The child is orphan and living with elder uncle and anti .She was very studious and good in reading but due to poverty caregivers couldn’t provide necessary basic support for education. From project she is getting need based & educational support. Now she is appearing matriculation. Sincerely we hope that she will secure good marks and can go for higher study.
